Study flashcards by order of usefulness/frequency
On the flashcards tab, I would love a mode to study flashcards from all texts but ordered by frequency/importance. I have too many words saved to realistically study them all via flashcards, so I'd like to prioritize them by frequency/importance.
There's sort of a way to do this by going to the Word List tab, sorting by frequency/importance, and then selecting all, and then selecting Study Flashcards from there. But it only will do the top 25. It would be great to be able to use the spaced repetition algorithm from the main Flashcards tab to be able to work…
1 voteThis is exactly how the flashcards work by default. It's meant to surface the words with the highest frequency first. That said, the spaced repetition algorithm will also ensure that words you've practiced will not reappear in the flashcards for a certain time after you've last practiced them, which is designed to be effective for learning many words over the long term (but may not be ideal if you are trying to cram-study the top X most frequent words in a short amount of time)

Audiobooks or audio narration
Can you make them as audiobooks or audio narration? That would help me a lot! I also see another suggestion of being able to highlight words that we don't know. I love that idea as well. Thanks A LOT!

Add a few languages...
Hi Steve, based on the amount of related ideas I'm sure this is nothing novel, but I have been studying a fair amount of minority languages similar to ones I already speak, and no reading aid with vocabulary tracking works with them natively*.
Namely:
Low German/Saxon
West Frisian (*LanguageCrush actually does support Frisian)
Faroese
Northern SámiAttempts to use them in tools that don't really support them, e.g., Readlang or LingQ just don't work very well, and I don't find the reader of configurable tools like LWT/Lute nearly as good as those mentioned above.
You'd have a lifetime sub from…

Experience the best treasure trove of audiobooks
I am looking for a reliable site to add to my audiobook collection without spending a lot of money. After I found out about https://horbuchkostenlos.de/besten-horbucher/, I was delighted.
The site offers a wide variety of high-quality audiobooks of various genres. The best part is that many of these are completely free! Very fast download speed and user friendly user interface. I can easily find my favorite authors and genres.

Integrate the APP with a well frequented "open" forum on language learning
Great app. I can't stop making publicity for it, although I am not a stakeholder ;-) but you, Steve, are really the first and still the only one who designed an apps starting from a user's needs, not just wanting to do any better than those hundreds of copies/remakes of bad and incomplete LL-apps.
Do I see a forum somewhere to discus READLANG ? if not, you may want to have a look at our forum, duome.eu where we have plans to open a discussion forum just for Readlang and maybe for other LL-apps too.
You may also email me…

Furigana for japanese
For the japanese learning mode, it would be very helpful to have furigana(the word's pronuciation writting in hiragana) above the words. It is very slow to check the pronunciation through the definition tab
3 votesI've added furigana as an experimental feature. Read more here: https://forum.readlang.com/t/calling-japanese-and-chinese-learners-please-try-new-furigana-and-pinyin-feature-experimental/284

When you select a word in Russia or any other language you should be able to see the original form of the word.
And also you should be able to listen to the pronunciation and there should be a button to copy the word which is selected.

Make it better than ChatGPT
I've started using ChatGPT and love it. Not everything is there that I would want. Learning languages has come a long way since I started years ago.
The first major issue is being able to use with pdfs. Right now I can make better use of DeepL and Reverso with phrases. I tried Readlang and I can get only one word and the English translation is on top of the spanish so not readable.
I see you are bringing AI into the program. I haven’t experienced that yet. We need audio in natural voice so text to speech. I can…

What is a hack to fixing PayPal 403 error?
When trying to access your PayPal account, if you receive the 403 prohibited error, your internet service provider is probably to blame. Connecting to a different router will help you identify the issue. It's time to get in touch with your ISP for more help if the problem doesn't go away.
Your public IP address, which was given to you by your internet service provider, has occasionally been banned by PayPal. If so, speak with your ISP to see if they can assist in resolving the problem.Source: https://www.accountiod.com/paypal-403-forbidden-error/

Scroll to current location when editing text in sidebar
I'd like to fix obvious mistakes in the translated book I'm reading, but opening the side bar to edit the text and then finding the spot I'm at in order to change it is not practical for a novel, particularly on a phone. Would be nice if it could auto-scroll down to match the top of your current page when you opened the text editor.

Give full support to Welsh?
It would be wonderful if Welsh could have full functionality (so that words are prioritised on frequency). So many people are learning Welsh now, via Duolingo and Dysgu Cymraeg ...

Track time of how long you've been reading a book/article
It would be nice if you could automatically track time while a book/article is open. And then when you click out of the book/article the tracker would stop. This way you can see how long each book takes you to read.

Allow to separate all vocab from starred vocab specifically in each different book/article
Vocab for each book/article is already separated. However, I like to only add my starred vocab to anki. I add vocab lists for each book I finish. It would be nice to be able to select all starred vocab but specifically the starred vocab only for that book that I completed.

Save words as their lexeme, rather than their conjugated form.
I find that when I am learning vocabulary, I need to learn the word in it's unconjugated form first, then learn to apply the grammar rules later. It would be nice if there was a toggle feature than allows you to save the word as its lexeme, or if it could be automatically included as part of the word list.
For example (in French):
Français: Fais
Lexeme: Faire
Context: Je fais un gâteau.31 votes -
To develop an extension for other browsers as well
It would be interesting to delevop Readlang app in other browsers, other Google language indeed, just because the application deserves and could be better enjoyed by the WHOLE COMMUNITY!

Third-party apps to view the clipboard history on Android
However, you can see the clipboard history on Android by default. But if you can not see that due to any reason then you can use some third-party apps to view the history. Gboard is one of them. It is a very famous app where you can see your clipboard history. Firstly, you need to install the Gboard app and set it as your default keyboard. Now, type anywhere with that keyboard. Then click on the clipboard icon that is shown above the letters. Then click on “Turn on Clipboard” Now, copy the text that you want to save to…

Remove multiple entries when you de-select words
When I click something like a sentence like: I like goats very much.I'll highlight:
I like goats - then I might de-select it and then highlight
I like goats very - then I might de-select it and then highlight
I like goats very muchAnd then when i check my word list I have 3 entries that are almost identical. So my point is when I de-highlight/deselect you shouldnt save all those variations of entries?
