  1. Days before order/display

Is it possible to order the words shown in the tabular display in order of days remaining to the next prompt (ascending or descending). And preferably to show the number of remaining days.

I find the "forgotten" words typically to be in the 20-50.day range, and would like to be able to select this group for re-testing

  2. YouTube Syncing in Text Format

In addition to the interactive interface for syncing videos, it would be nice to be able to edit the syncing in text format as well. This would be more of a power user feature that would let users tweak the syncing by hand. What I really want is SRT format support (link to that feature request below), but if that is too hard, just exposing your native syncing format for users to edit by hand would allow for external tools to do the SRT. I figure this would be an easy feature from your perspective and lean on the community…

  4. use VNTokenizer for Vietnamese

Vietnamese separates syllables with spaces, so you have to use a tokenizer to find the words. As the beta version of Readlang currently stands, each syllable is considered a word and multi-syllabic words are considered phrases, which Readlang treats quite differently.

  5. Fix this bug

After editing a card and hitting save, sometimes the edit screen won't close. To get out you can hit cancel but then the flashcard isn't changed

  6. add a way to mark and sideline "leeches".

For words that I get wrong, say, 5 times, it would be nice to mark them as leeches and take them out of active flashcards. Then if I encounter that word again in text, I could reactivate it and it back in to active flashcards but with a new context sentence.

  7. dark theme for readlang

The ebook reader looks great on mobile. I'd love to have a toggle button where you can put it in "dark mode", ie white text on black background.

  8. Provide a nice-looking cyrillic font with serif

I tried the few fonts that are available but did not find a cyrillic font (russian) pleasant to look at.

  9. Don't automatically put words in deleted folder.

Just because I had them yesterday doesn't mean I don't want to practice them today!

  10. English to English translation

Has it been implemented? i basically just want to learn new words, or keep phrases that I read. I would like to write one day, and that would be a great way to store useful words and phrases.

  11. Make it easier to add images in cards.

In a similar way that the card edit screen automatically loads up an external dictionary, it would be nice to have it automatically look up the word in Google Images (maybe Giphy too). Ideally, you would be able to click on the image and add it to your card, rather than copying and pasting it. Thanks.

  12. Review flash cards by frequency.

When reviewing flashcards, it would be great to filter them by frequency. One category could be the "1000 most frequent words" followed by a "1k-3k most frequent words" and so on.

Doing so may allow users to not be so overwhelmed by the number of flashcards. If you tell yourself, I'm going to stay on top of the 5000 most frequent words, then you can ignore the words that are less frequent and not by stressed about letting them pile up, because you are not going to see them often in your text.

  13. Leave it be

Ive tried MANY of the popular apps. I truly feel, my learning and retention rate is better at Readlang. The options are fantastic, and help to keep it interesting. I would buy the Tshirt.......Vielen dank

  15. Thanks for making this service

I've been looking for something like this for a while. Reading in a target language is the best way to learn.

  17. Keep me signed in!

The chrome extension is constantly signing me out and auto reloading the tab I'm using for Readlang. It's so annoying, and really difficult to use the flashcard function.

  19. fix the problem with links and formatted text (when using extension on an external page)

When using Chrome Readlang extension there is a problem, which I guess won't be difficult to solve. You cannot (or maybe I cannot) translate a fragment of a text that has two different styles of formatting within it. If something is a link or a bold text (or anything that needs using a separate html tag) you can only translate it separately (from the rest of the phrase). It's quite annoying, when using some dictionary examples (with described term always in bold) or articles that use a lot of links. The (ordinal?) number of the word is right, so I…

  20. add Latgalian as a language to learn

I am a linguist and like readlang very much. I would like to explore its use with an underressourced language, Latgalian. It will be mainly used by speakers of Latvian reading texts in Latgalian and compiling wordlists from texts. The language's ISO is ltg, the language name in Latgalian is latgalīšu volūda. Thank you very much for considering this.
