"imports plain text versions of websites a la Instapaper"
Hi, I was reading your post on the making of Readlang (http://steveridout.com/2014/03/22/readlang-my-bootstrapped-language-learning-web-app.html) and I found that back in January 2013 you were working on the development of "imports plain text versions of websites a la Instapaper".
This is something I have long thought that Readlang should improve. Although the Web Reader allows to import an article into Readlang, it works nothing like instapaper (or pocket for that matter). Those apps have an article view that extracts only the title and main text of the article. It would be great for Readlang to import the article like that (perhaps you can use the same API that those apps use). Instead, nowadays when Readlang imports an article, it includes all the text in the page (menus, links, ads, and all the clutter in the page).
Admittedly, instapaper/pocket article view is not perfect, Indeed there are tricky pages where it is not easy to tell what is relevant text and what is clutter. However, it wouldn't be so bad to have to correct those few cases. And that's certainly better than having to edit the text manually for every article imported into Readlang, to cut the clutter manually and leave only the relevant text.

Done!
Readlang now uses the Readability algorithm to create readable versions of webpages a la Instapaper.
