Shared words data: context, translation, pictures, definition aka shared vocab
Hello Steve, good job, your app is really close to what I was "dreaming" to build, but whoa-la you did it almost the same way.
I believe in learning=experiencing, not dull drilling. That is why word context and pictures are fare more important than drilling "flashcards" ( memorizing word and its translation ).
You have nice tool for skimming through word context (i use it rather then flashcard typing mode). Typing mode is nice finale, once I "know and feel" the word.
I usually add one or more context ideally with good picture and definition (I am advanced learner thus I prefer it over translation, but translation is fine to have there too) and that is SO time consumig.
It would be nice to ad word to my word database, but to have there shared context and pictures of the word, simillary like sharing library.
Each context, definition and picture could be voted upon. My context (from my reading, my addition) would be on top of additions and I can vote and choose which context would follow (default with top-voted context or picture).
This way I spend less time building my words library and more time practicing and infiltrating context to my head :)
Learning in context allows me to better understand the word and better to picture the word in my memory, the same way babies learns ;) .
Thank you for Readlang!
Thanks for the suggestion. Currently all your words are private but I’ve been planning to open things up so that by default everyone shares their words and phrases publicly, and probably to restrict the option of private words to paying users only. This would open the doors for the kind of collaborative features you suggest.
Watch this space!

Great news, given that it will be really collaborative, not only open. Memrise do it simillary, but not as open vocabulary page.
I think you can get great deal of traffic from Google to this sort of vocabulary page. I always bump to yourdictionary.com when i search for "word + sentence use" to add more context to my word database (I used Evernote before Readlang for building my DB of words I want to learn along reading).
Not the least, it will add value to your product and foster community. For now I see value in ease way of collecting words and its sentences form read articles and nice way of learning them.
