Offline would be great for our students who do not have data and long commutes home on the yellow bus :) (Where, of course, they do homework)

It is possible to export to anki or quizlet from the "Word List" tab: http://blog.readlang.com/2014/04/23/tips-to-take-charge-of-your-vocabulary-learning.html
This isn't ideal however, since you need to export new word lists every so often and 'merge' them into your Anki / Quizlet decks. Also, it's preferable to keep your progress history within Readlang so that Readlang's flashcards as well as new features such as the auto-highlighting (http://blog.readlang.com/2015/03/17/auto-highlight-words.html) can adapt based on your current knowledge.

This is definitely a good idea to have offline access to flashcards. Is it possible to export flashcards eg to Quizlet? That's another option. Except you wouldn't get the really useful contextual info that Readland provides.
