have a choice to translate one way
There is an check box you can click to turn of the "Spelling translation" feature. It would be nice if there were settings that we could adjust. For instance, to translate in only one way. .In some cases it would be quicker and more beneficial to be able to practice translation only from our target language to our control language.
This is now done!
To enable one way translation, enable “Passive Mode” from the Settings page (http://readlang.com/settings)
Enjoy, and please let me know if you encounter any problems.

I'll bump this recommendation. I would appreciate simply having an option never to translate to the target language. With easier texts and unambiguous words, it's great to force myself to go back and forth. With more difficult texts, going back and forth sometimes becomes aggravating.
For example, take the English word "used." That could be an adjective ("the used car") or the past tense of a verb ("it hasn't been used"). Then throw in similar meanings, like exploited or taken advantage of. For the adjective alone, I've learned at least three German words: benutzt, eingesetzt, and verwendet. So now when I see "used" on a card, I don't know which German word to guess. (Then multiply this by hundreds, if not thousands of words.)
I think that past a certain point in their studying, a lot of people are going to want to supply only the L1 definition for an L2 word, just to maintain their sanity.
By the way, love the tool. Really appreciate all the hard work you've put into it.

Yes, this is very good Idea. Because for words in foreign language we have context, so could translate exactly, and for other way could be different possible variants of translation.
