Does anything bug you about using Readlang? Add or vote on suggestions to improve it!

NOTE: Readlang is run by just one person, me, Steve. Even entire software development teams can't implement all the great ideas that they come up with, and this is doubly true in my case since I'm just a single person. So although I read all the ideas posted here, I can't possibly implement most of them. The feedback definitely helps inform my product decisions though, so please keep posting!

  1. Change the colour of the definition

    When I click on a word in a foreign language to get a definition, the definition appears above the word in light green. This often means that I am not able to see the definition very clearly if at all. It would be great for it to appear in a darker colour, or maybe in a speech bubble.

  7. Add ability to customize the begin of one day

    Because I like to stay up late, I often memorize words in the early hours of the next morning, and I want to count these words as the number of recitations the day before, so I want to be able to customize the start time of the day, such as setting it at 4 a.m. every morning. Thanks

  9. Cannot find Readlang extention

  12. Check for replies to emails sent to paying customers.

    I was sent a couple of emails stating that my card had expired and the collection of my monthly subscription had failed.

    The card quoted was one I had used with Readlang on a previous occasion a couple of years back.

    My current card which is still valid and from which Readlang has been taking payment each month for more than the last six months, was totally ignored.
    Also ignored were my emails sent in response, asking what was going on?
    My premium membership has now been ceased, in fairness the "payment failed", emails I received did invite me to…

  13. Size of the words

    Hi, I think size of the translated word should shrink to the space of the original, because as you click on, since the translation is longer or shorter, the sentences and words move between lines all the time. It is confusing and annoying while reading.

  15. Keep the clicked word and the text after it as it is before clicking.

    I suggest you keep the clicked word in place and move the preceding original text to accommodate the translation without moving the clicked word and the text after it.

    It can added in the setting. It is annoying to me and I haven’t renewed because of it and after coming back to the service 4 years later I feel the same way.

  16. be able to have as many flash cards as each text .

    I find very annoying to have only 8 or 25 flash cards available, I really need to have each text with its specific set of flash cards and this is not possible here, so I have to use an external flash card app to introduce the words I find for each individual text.

  17. when I click English words, they are translated one-to-one into German

    when I click English words, they are translated one-to-one into German. E.g .: reference = Referenz or indication = Indikation. Here, it would be helpful to use a word that is not related, such as: reference = Bezug or indication = Anzeichen. Otherwise the translation doesn't really help in these cases.

  18. option to change language for a flashcard

    I sometimes forget to change the language I am reading in when using the extension. Google doesn't tell me that the site is in English and not in German and translates everything as it can, seeing no difference. I end up with word translated from English to my native language in the German deck. Then I usually go to the same site, change language to English and click all the words I want to learn. But sometimes, you see, this site doesn't want me anymore without a special subscription. I would like to be able to edit these flashcards' language…

  20. technical glitch with web extension

    when using the web extension, if i try to choose a phrase, the extension, in trying to tell me to sign up for the paid version, goes mostly off screen and has to be reset by clicking on the corner with the readlang logo. it is impossible to actually see most of the information that comes up. this is on windows 10
