Does anything bug you about using Readlang? Add or vote on suggestions to improve it!

NOTE: Readlang is run by just one person, me, Steve. Even entire software development teams can't implement all the great ideas that they come up with, and this is doubly true in my case since I'm just a single person. So although I read all the ideas posted here, I can't possibly implement most of them. The feedback definitely helps inform my product decisions though, so please keep posting!

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Words' Categories

    Hi,
    I think that Readlang is the best app I have ever bumped in.
    My world list is becoming longer as the time passes so it would be very useful to give the chance of creating categories so to study it more specifically.
    Moreover I didn't succeed in installing Reading in my tablet...the info's given seem to be unuseful.

  2. Allows user to export current intervals.

    It would be great if users could export the current interval for their words. This way, the words can be moved to another system without losing their learning progress.

    In addition, it would be great to include any other learning data that Readlang, such as difficulty. However, since we can't see any of these fields, I don't know what other fields there are related to the spaced repetition algorithm.

  3. Make it so that images can be associated with books and articles.

    And show those images while doing the flashcards. If the image is the cover of a book, it would more quickly let us gather the context of the sentence.

  4. not reading accents correctly

    campaña gets stored as "bell" in english. But bell is campana is spanish. Note the difference in accents on n.

  5. Chinese learning

    Dear Readlang team,

    Thanks for your amazing product. I love it and i am sure that this software will reach the sky. Would love to see pinyin when learning words, and to make it even better would love to see words that are HSK targets. Keen to discuss this, would be amazing and I'd be willing to go premium for this.

  6. Limit phrase translations per hour (not per day)

    I think, the best would be 1 phrase per hour in the free version.

    But, overall, this tool is really effective and the translations are accurate as well! Thank you guys

  10. show the date a text was uploaded in the public library

    this would help users determine which texts they have and haven't read. It would also complement a previous suggestion of mine to remove texts from the library that have already been read

  15. optional key control for definition and start audio

    I listen to an italian podcast with transcription: https://www.podclub.ch/it/podcast-page/al-dente
    Normally to start the audio I click on a word and the audio begins at that point. With Readlang active, when I click on a word I get the definition. I need a way to start the audio and bypass the definition as an option. How about Shift/click on word?

    Could you tell me how can I use monolingual dictionary (English-English dictionary)or show English explanation for English words which I am studying as I hate translation and I don't need it.

    The privacy notification in the dictionary pops up again and again after me giving my consent. I’m on a Apple IPad Pro 2. Gen iOS 13 on Safari.
