Fix the parsing of German quotation marks.
Some German texts use the following quotation marks: » «. Often, when parsing the context sentence, it will grab the » that is part of a quote of the next sentence. It requires a lot of time to fix these dangling quotation marks at the end of sentences. Thanks.

Retain filter for context sentences when reviewing flashcards by text.
When I use the premium feature of reviewing just words for a particular text, it would be great if it only present context sentences from that text.
So if I am specifically reviewing words from a Harry Potter book, I would like to only see context sentences from that book. I would still like to click the arrow to see context sentences from other sources, but one of the Harry Potter sentences should show first. Thanks.

Flashcards sound
I prefer that when I review the flash cards I don't need to press the sound icon to hear the pronunciation and it happens atomatically.

change the behaviour of "accept this answer" button, please
"Accept this answer" button doesn't work as you would expect. It should mean that your answer is totally valid (but couldn't be interpreted so by a machine), but it treats your answer as wrong. Firstly, it spaces the review after two days (so you have to repeat many times one that you already know). Secondly, it shows the question once more. (The review date should be counted as if the answer was right and the question shouldn't be shown again)

follow authors and users...
link to goodreads account, make an ios app and send notifications and reccomend daily readings. Share data with duolingo to add to the list of unique words you know in your target language. Allow users to report inappropriate content (i.e there are several duplicate texts, and texts that are written in hindi, thai, portugese, spanish, and dutch in the french section.) it would also be good to hide texts you don't want to see as well as the idea of removing texts from the public library section once shelved or completed

Import Flashcards
This is fantastic app. Congratulations!
I have a ton of flashcards in Google Translate (.csv) that I would like to import. Wouldn't that be feasible?

Please improve readlang in translating pdf's in the real time
It will be very useful not to waste time to convert pdf's if you need to translate only few words.

Support images
Hi,
Some books have images/photos stored in .epub file. But for the moment, it's not supported by ReadLang. When I upload my .epub file, photos are gone.
I hope you can implement this. Thank you!2 votes -
Require typing the correct phrase when incorrect
For the option of typing in a phrase or word, when we get it wrong it just moves on to the next card. I feel like requiring/allowing the user to type in the correct answer even if the answer is visible allows for some internalization and output. As it is now, the input field becomes inactive.
For me personally it helps to type the correct answer in the address bar a few times to output it a few times myself, so think it'd be nice to have as part of the user flow.

Level of proficiency
Hi,
I only wanted to know how you calculate the level (A1 to C1) for a text? That would be very useful so I can justify wich text to use with my students.
Thanks a lot
2 votesThe difficulty of each text is calculated via quite a crude approach described here: https://readlang.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/722085-how-is-the-difficulty-of-a-text-calculated
To be honest, they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Allow correction of a mistyped answer (simple typo's)
there is no way to correct a minor typo after an answer was checked and found wrong. one can only go to the next card.
why not leave the card in unanswered/edit mode again...
https://i.postimg.cc/gj772WPf/screenshot-685.png2 votesIf you got the card wrong, it will resurface later within the same flashcard session, giving you a chance to test yourself again and try to get it correct without the typo. Do you think this is OK?

Auto-highlight words for Japanese
The Auto-highlight feature is working for e.g. German, but absent for Japanese. Is this intentional? It seems a relatively language-independent feature to implement, so I was wondering if it was possible to add. Thanks!

Thanks. Currently all articles are plain text only.
Long term I’d like to include HTML markup to make things look prettier with headings, images, etc. But at the moment this isn’t a high priority to be honest.
Editing existing documents in plain text is more likely to happen in the short term.

Use Google Translate Audio for Portuguese
The audio for Portuguese is different from Google Translate, and sometimes mispronounces, eg., ç is pronounced as /k/. The quality in G Translate is better: slower, brigher and clearer.
1 voteI’m using the Microsoft Translate Speech API for this, which is actually better for Spanish pronunciation than Google Translate IMO. It’s a shame the Portugese isn’t so good.
Unfortunately Google don’t provide an official API to allow other developers to use their text-to-speech service. I could look into other services. but I’m not prioritizing this for the time being.

What happened to the scroll option?
I remember I once used the scroll option, but now I don't see it. I prefer to scroll.
1 voteSorry, I removed this for now because it didn’t seem polished enough, e.g.:
- The setting wasn’t remembered like the other formatting options
- Possible confusion when it’s not available for longer texts (with long texts, scrolling through the entire text causes the browser to slow down and struggle)I’ll work on it a bit more and put it back. I may even may it the default option for shorter texts.

Make it teacher-friendly
In terms of functions such as managing and sharing content make it so that teachers can recommend it to their students, use to add content for their sts, etc. I will post a video on YT explaining what I mean in more detail in the next few days.
1 voteI’m looking forward to your YouTube video to understand exactly what features you would like to see.

Last line does not display sometimes.
I encountered this behaviour when the text was only one page long and there are only a few words on the last line. I have been having issues as well with longer texts like the line displaying twice, on the old and on the new page.
1 voteI’ve just fixed a bug where this could happen if translated words were present when chnaging page. Please give the site another try and let me know if you encounter this or any other problems.
Thanks,

modify it so teachers can use it.
This seems to be a marvelous site. I would love to use it for my class and it would be great to be able to share a text with the students.
1 voteYou can create texts and make them public using the “Share” button from the Library. This means that anyone will be able to see them, not only your students. Would this be suitable for you?
I’d love to make the site more usable for teachers. Please let me know what features you would need to use the site as a teacher.
Also, once the site is out of beta I plan to offer paid subscription options to make the site sustainable, do you think teachers would be willing to pay a small fee for features to manage a group of students?
Thanks,
Steve
