Possibilities to create decks similar to anki
Hello, I wish there was an option to create decks for different types instead of just "word list". This would help a lot, because sometimes there are certain expressions that we would hardly use and other very useful. Even with the possibility to favorite the words and phrases it is still quite limited.
finally, I want to congratulate the whole team for this wonderful extension, I'm enjoying it6 votes -
Class Flashcards???
is it possible to have/download a set of flashcards, as the teacher, of the most frequently chosen words of the students?
5 votesThanks for the suggestion!
This isn’t possible at the moment, but if more people request this then I’ll consider adding it in future.

Ability to change the default CEFR designation
Sometimes the CEFR designation seems off, probably because the text is short. I think it should be modifiable or allow the user to add another field with a subjective level.

Support bilingual texts for word count and CEFR level
Human translations are still more accurate than Google Translate. So I like to upload texts like https://readlang.com/library/5bbb6a4c143b89000758ad5d/from/548 , with the original text plus the human translated version.
Clearly this throws off the word count and readability index.
Could you please support some sort of markup that we can use in uploaded text files, that will ignore the specified portions of the texts?

Modify background colour
When studying flash cards it would be awesome to be able to change the background colour. The background design as is now, hurts the eyes after a while.

make it easier to add your own translation straightaway
Other similar apps/software allow you to write in your own definition of a word or phrase immediately without having to click (in Readlang's case) several times on the word/phrase or navigate to a different panel. This would be a really helpful addition to Readlang for me (especially when reading Latin) as - at the moment - the automatic translations are often not sufficient and the current method for adding your own translation is quite time-consuming (compared to just having the word pop up in the side panel and being able to input translation immediately).

Team up with duolingo! (or do a similar approach)
This is probably one of the best language learning sites I've ran into. I couldn't find a single thing to complain about, and then I noticed something. Some features cost money, and I get it. You guys need money to maintain this site, but charging money from it's users would only hinder it.
I'm sure you've guys have heard of duolingo. It one of the most well known language learning tools out there. Why? Because it's free!! Users on duolingo provide a service by translating the internet while learning a language for free. Everybody wins! I was thinking either you…

What if I want to practice the same words again?
I've done my first 19 words, and now they're listed in the magic machine area. But, what if I want to practice them again? I go to Learn, and it doesn't offer me a flashcard quiz.
I should be able to review flashcards whenever I want to.
4 votesThese words are now scheduled for the future (for tomorrow if this is your first time testing yourself). This is done according to a spaced repetition system designed to optimise your learning. Basically, it would probably be more beneficial to learn some new words now and come back to those words tomorrow.
I can understand the desire to re-test yourself on words earlier than scheduled though and will consider adding this feature, thanks.
(Note that it’s best to translate a lot more than 19 words, even if you don’t have time to test yourself on all of them. The reason is that Readlang prioritises based on the word frequency so it will try to show the most useful words first. If you have lots of words then you will never run out of words to practise on.)

Allow adding a second (ideally also third) sidebar dictionary
Use case: Any languages where it is helpful to pull additional information from a second or third resource, e.g. to look up root word of conjucated/declensed forms; or to see more example sentences.
When reading Czech texts in LWT, I use LWT's second dictionary for extra example sentences, and I kidnapped the third one for a resource that provides grammatical information (http://prirucka.ujc.cas.cz/, for case, number etc.) This is very convenient because I get a better idea of how else a word could be used and review grammar at the same time.
One could use this similarly for Spanish,…

Show the difficulty when invoking the Readlang bookmarklet
When using the Readlang bookmarklet or chrome extension, it would be nice if the toolbar showed the difficulty or CEFR level of the current page.

Iphone app
This is a wonderful cloud app, do you have the idea to develop an IOS app in the future?
4 votesI’m certainly considering it, but can’t make any promises at the moment since it’s such a large job. Did you realise that you can install Readlang to your home-screen that makes it run full screen like an iOS app: https://readlang.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/342855-is-there-a-readlang-ios-ipad-or-iphone-app
What would be the most important aspect of an iOS app for you? Better UI? Offline use? Something else?
Very glad that you like the app! :-)

Web Reader extension for desktop Safari
Create an extension for desktop Safari just like for Chrome.
(Note, for now you can use the bookmarklet which functions identically, the only difference is that it's accessed via a link in your bookmarks instead of via a nice toolbar button: http://readlang.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/523289)

Allow users to suggest alternative translations
Sometimes the translations suggested are a bit off the mark and could be improved on. It might be useful to allow users to suggest improved translations, in the same way that Google translate does.

Add button to report errors in texts
Hello Readlang,
I think this is a wonderful website. While browsing the pages, however, I came across one small mistake in the lyrics of "Let it snow": "The lights are turned was down low" should be "The lights are turned way down low".I think it might be useful if you have this kind of reporting window available at every page because other pages may have something that needs to be corrected as many of its contents seem to be contributed voluntarily.
But this is definitely a good system. Thanks anyway!
4 votesGood idea, I want to implement something like this.
For now I’ve fixed that line from “Let it Snow!” manually. There’s a new problem with the line spacing that you’ll notice though, all the lines have a large spacing so the separation between verses is no longer visible, I’ll work on fixing this tomorrow.
EDIT – Change title of idea to “Add button to report errors in texts”
EDIT 2 – “Let It Snow!” is formatted property into verses again.

Add the possibility to show only public library content with youtube video
Add the possibility to filter the public content in order to only show content that has a youtube video. This would help those interested in improving the listening skills.

Link variants of the same word
It would be nice to have variations of the same word to be linked with the same meaning. For example, different tenses of the same verb or different declensions of a word. This could also be added, for example, through the edit word window, with an additional coma separated field (like the existing one) so that if any of the variants appear in the future, it also gets highlighted and the same definition is shown.
