Track time of how long you've been reading a book/article
It would be nice if you could automatically track time while a book/article is open. And then when you click out of the book/article the tracker would stop. This way you can see how long each book takes you to read.

Scroll to current location when editing text in sidebar
I'd like to fix obvious mistakes in the translated book I'm reading, but opening the side bar to edit the text and then finding the spot I'm at in order to change it is not practical for a novel, particularly on a phone. Would be nice if it could auto-scroll down to match the top of your current page when you opened the text editor.

add some more trainings to learn section
Not only guessing word, but many different trainings such as word-translate, translate-word, audio-writing, crossword. Watch on this site http://lingualeo.ru/ It's russian but you can switch it to English. It really helps you to memorise new words, believe me.
3 votesI’m working on an API to allow anyone to create training games. There’s an early alpha version here in case any developers want to try it out:
https://github.com/SteveRidout/readlang-api
Here’s a basic game to demonstrate it:
http://steveridout.github.io/readlang-api/
I don’t plan to create games myself any time soon, since I want to concentrate on the other core features of Readlang, but I hope that other developers may be tempted to try.
UPDATEThere is now a typing mode for Readlang’s flashcards that you can enable from the preferences page, see this blog post for details:
-
allow the user to select a block of text for to save for study
the user is able to select a large block of untranslated text to be sent to readlang learning mode.
Essentially, if there's a section that's difficult and the user wants to study it in context, they'll be able to select whatever quantity of text they like and sent it off to be studied without translating.
I like this idea for moving readlang beyond translation. Breaking down texts and studying difficult passages with a little more context than is already provided for in the system

Add export to Google spreadsheets.
From Google spreadsheets there is an API that can be used to export to various other flashcard programs.
Also, if numerous students were able to export to one teacher's spreadsheet, the teacher would get good data on the class's vocabulary profile.3 votes -
Youtube phrase listening option
The texts with youtube from my opinion have quite different goal from plain texts. They are mostly for long term work such as listening many times a phrase or a part of a text. In this case it would be great to save in a saparete word list the words(phrases to listen) and when clicking them it will be sincronized with the text and sound.

Chrome extension doesnt show whether I am logged in, nor sign-in.
I was wandering why "translated" words doesn't appear in my words database.
I had Chrome crash and it logged me out. However there is no way I can see it. Readlang extension worked in guest mode. I figured a way to logg-in with using voting buttons, but it took me some time to figure it out.

TED Talks in Translation
I would like to be able to 'add a text' of an target language TED talk transcript and link the english video (much like youtube feature but with video from TED domain)
3 votesI’m afraid it would be too much work to support other online video players at the moment, but hopefully the videos you are looking for will appear on YouTube.
Are there many TED videos which aren’t available on YouTube?

Add tags and colour coding options to word highlighting so that I can categorise the words I learn.
The addition of tags and options for colour coding to them would allow users to categorise words (for example by difficulty) and see any occurrence of saved words with the proper colour-coded background in a text, instantly knowing if they've encountered the word already and how difficult they find to memorise it.
Also unknown words should, as an option, be colour-coded as well.

Copy to clipboard
I wonder if it would be possible to have the Readlang Web Reader copy the word that was clicked to the local clipboard? The reason for this is that the Web Reader offers just one translation whereas there may be better ones. I have developed my own pop-up dictionary environment that offers a lot more options, such as verb de-inflection, and alternate dictionaries, and multiple translations if available. It works by sensing content copied to the clipboard. In fact, putting the clicked word on the local clipboard opens up a lot of useful local applications. An option might be provided…

use another translation service
Maybe it's better to use some other translation services like "lingvo" instead of, I suppose, Google Translate? It's good but sometimes I ought to see some different variants of suggested translations because of inappropriate suggestions that is given here.

Link the toolbar icon to Readlang on rightclick
Currently, right-clicking and then clicking Readlang Web Reader takes you to the chrome store, which makes no sense. If I've got it in my toolbar to click it, I don't need to go to the store to get it. What I do need, is an easy way to get to the Readlang page. Maybe I am just missing it, but I have been having to type the URL in to get there so there isn't an obvious link anywhere.
